Horse Racing Trainers are the professional men and women who prepare horses for the race that they are to take part in. This is a very skilled job, and the trainers that rise to the height of their profession are well regarded and well paid. In fact such individuals are at a premium. The Horse Racing industry is a multi-million pound affair and the prize money on offer is very considerable. Many races now pay out several hundred thousand pounds to the first 4 horses past the finishing line. Trainers generally receive awards and a percentage of the prize money on offer. So a race with £250,000 to the winner will net a trainer a very significant income - not to mention the ongoing fees they will charge to the owners who keep their horses at the trainers stables or "yard"
